In one of the previous blogs, I mentioned the relevance of internationalisation the learning experience for our students. The main idea behind internationalisation is that students develop more relevant skills, knowledge and attitudes to operate in a world that is becoming more and more ‘borderless’. Learning activities that enable students to engage with ideas, challenges and solutions from different parts of the world, and experience processes from different parts of the world will allow students to diversify their thinking and approaches to problems.
Many of us, realising the importance of internationalising, have embedded various aspects of internationalisation in our classrooms learning activities. Some of the ways in which we can embed internationalisation perspectives may include:

Some great ideas have been mentioned here to help settle and support international students. Few comments in regards to inside and outside class activities. In-class activities are within the control of an academic, however, outside the class activities are organised by a different group within a university. Many activities at my university, I feel, are only reaching to the "converted". Just because we organise these wonderful events does not mean that students will attend/ participate. We should carry on organising such events but, not think that it is the only solution. Personally, I have been thinking about this for a while to address some issues that have not happened, but could some day. More on it at a later date.

Great that people at different institutions are doing a number of different things....one thing to note is that students from different countries do not and may not engage in sports in the same way as we in Australia do, that is why a diverse range of sports/activities would be more appropriate. But that is just one part, a lot more needs to be done.
